best AZ bug places?

Post by Pulk on Sat May 24, 2008 4:20 am

I'm going to be in your state ~June 13-19. can anyone recommend areas of AZ that are good for bugs? general areas would be useful in addition to specific parks/cities... I'm especially interested in heros, after that non-myg arachnids and insects.

thanks

cool, so far I have no definite plans and I'll likely be going around a large part of the state... where are you going to be hunting?

Very Happy so get that list posted and ILL plan your trip for ya! lol.....

yeah, portal is the only place i'm going specifically for bugs. the others are for natural structures/things my parents want to see. (and i hope to find -something- there)

i'd most like to find heros, after that other pedes, true spiders and other arachnids, and after those non-T mygalomorphs and insects... there aren't really any specific species i'm looking for.

those places aren't set in stone, if you have suggestions for places roughly close to those areas that would be awesome.

well, if you are going for sight seeing... then go anywhere. most of these things can be found almost anywhere. portal is alright for bug hunting. the pajaritos are the coolest for bug hunting.

the pajaritos are just west of nogales. there is only ONE pajarito mts. they are THE mountain range! some of the coolest stuff in the US is found there.
