southern Michigan hunt

Post by John Apple on Fri Apr 18, 2008 7:41 pm

This August
A few friends and fellow non habitat rapers will be on the lookout for a few select species
and here they are
Araneus
-trifolium, many colors of this specie really want to find the white and black colored spider
-cavaticus light and dark
-marmoreus
Argiope
-aurantia , the common is everywhere I have been looking for the banded legged one up here for about two seasons
-trifasciata
Dolomedes
-scriptus
-tenebrosus
and if possible triton, I see only one or two a year.
Misumena
Sphodros affinis [gotta get two for Josh] these will be shortly
Micranthena sagittata and gracilis
For my own eyeballs I want to find something I have not seen since I was a teen Question Question Acanthopeira stellata What a Face
and of course L variolus
I am sure a lotta stuff will be seen. oddly enough we find P audax on the tops of weeds in the fall and later summer to catch the early morning rays and heat up, of course they are in the silken purses
