Hadrurus spadix
Type Locality for this species is the Yaki Trail at Cedar Ridge in the Grand Canyon, Coconino County Az; Wupatki National Monument in Coconino County Az and Kingman in Mohave County Az.
Distribution within Arizona is Coconino and Mohave Counties possibly extending into Apache and Navajo Counties.
Usually found in areas with sage brush and other taller grasses or cover plants. This species is visibly different from H. arizonensis by the complete black carapace and no light coloring around the eyes. All individuals that I have found have been more defensive then H. arizonensis as well
